Voice of Youth: The Premier Speaking Competition for Australian Secondary School Students.

The State Final of the Anderson Planners, Rostrum Voice of Youth was held in the SA House of Assembly, Parliament House on 26 June 2009. The winners were

• Senior Division - Jordan Valle, St Peter's College,
  
• Junior Division – Ben Graetz, Tyndale Christian School.

Rostrum extends its thanks to Anderson Planners for its generous sponsorship and Ms. Lindsay Simmons (Member for Morialta) and Mrs Isobel Redmond (Member for Heysen) our parliamentary hosts, for allowing this prestigious event to be held in the House of Assembly.

Jordan and Ben represented SA in the National final held in Melbourne on 25 July.

Rostrum Voice of Youth 2009 National Final Victories

Congratulations to Jordan Valle and Ben Graetz on their very fine achievement in the National Final of The Voice of Youth held at Scotch College Melbourne on 25 July 2009.  Jordan, of St Peter's College won the Senior Division and Ben, of Tyndale Christian School, and first time competitor in the Voice of Youth, was runner up in the Junior Division.  Your excellent performances and achievements have made you, your families, your schools and Rostrum SA very proud.

Prior to the final, a reception was held at Government House Melbourne where the contestants, their families and support crew were warmly greeted by the Governor and Mrs Jan de Kretser.  In his welcoming speech, Professor David de Kretser referred to Rostrum as "the organisation behind our future great speakers".
